The death of a loved one brings the realization that life will never be the same. For those left behind, this is a time of transition from one stage of life to another, a time of finding renewed meaning and purpose. During this time of transition, rituals can be a powerful source of strength and comfort.

Jewish Care Program»

Serves Jewish seniors and Jewish individuals by connecting them with community resources and other opportunities. Two weekly support groups are offered for caregivers and for those who are experiencing grief and loss. Grief is a natural process that can often be eased through sharing with others who have experienced the loss of a loved one. This group is facilitated by Trish Miller. Group meets Fridays, 12 - 1:00 pm at the JCC Conference Room, 5520 Wyoming Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109. Sponsored by the Jewish Care Program. Please call 348-4451 to register.

Mariposa Pediatric Hospice (UNM)»

As you grieve the loss of a child, lean on the Mariposa Program team for emotional support. You can choose to receive: Visits and phone calls from hospice nurses, a social worker, chaplain and/or volunteers; Bereavement counseling; Support for your child’s siblings; Education about the grief process and coping; Information on grief support groups and community resources; Cards on holidays and the child’s birthday

Bridgse the gaps in the availability of information and resources that impede and discourage victims and families trying to deal with the aftermath of violent death, undetermined deaths and attempted homicides.

Educational and volunteer opportunities that promote successful aging. Oasis offers challenging lifelong learning programs in the arts, humanities and wellness. In addition, volunteer service is promoted through the Intergenerational Tutoring Program.
